| Topographic Mapping
Mapping projects in support of planning, engineering, and design are implemented and completed by professionals with many years of experience in topographic mapping. Digitally encoded stereo plotters are utilized to interpret and compile digital terrain models for extraction of data for topographic mapping, control of ortho photography and volumetric calculations.
...produce maps that meet or exceed National Mapping Standards...
Superimposition interfaced to our Datem/IMA 1st order analytical stereo instrument is a cost efficient and accurate technology for change detection and update mapping thus providing a powerful and effective historical photographic tool. Ground control collected by Licensed Professional Land Surveyors using targeted surveyed control points or photo-identified feature control, allow us to produce maps that will meet or exceed National Mapping Standards. Standard mapping projections range from 1/2' to 20' contour intervals.
Digital Mapping Products
All IntraSearch mapping products are produced digitally and include edited contour files and cartographically enhanced planimetric mapping, digital terrain models (DTMs), digital elevation models (DEMs) or triangulated irregular networks (TINS). Data collected in AutoCAD are commonly converted to Arc/Info coverages, ArcView shape files, MapInfo, TerraModel and MicroStation formats. Volumetric projects for construction, engineering, environmental remediation and mining operations have been a substantial part of IntraSearch Inc. photogrammetric work for the past 20 years. Topographic mapping for exploration, development, municipalities, and engineering are generally produced at 10', 5', 2', 1' and ½' intervals. Metric intervals from 5 meters to .5 meters are commonly generated for international projects.
Analytical Triangulation
Analytical triangulation is accomplished with our precision 1st order Datum/IMA digital stereoplotter using AP-32 measurement collection software and Albany bundle adjustment software and Wild Zoom Pug-4 point transfer device. Analytical triangulation is a simultaneous, mathematical solution of specific points (pass points) marked within overlapping (stereo) photographic images. Triangulation is a process that allows a skeletal network of field control to span several stereo models that are uncontrolled. The solution process determines the precise camera position and orientation parameters for each photo as well as coordinates values and elevations for each pass-point. The end result of the process increases the number of ground control points available for mapping and orthophoto production. Analytical triangulation serves two main purposes, reduction of field survey required in areas of limited access and, verification of survey control accuracy.
